So, it's Christmas Eve..still no peace!

So I am here in my apartment trying to enjoy my tree and maybe watch a nice Christmas movie but I cannot. One of the idiot sons downstairs decides that he wants to blast his music. Oh, he is really at it today. I can feel strong vibrations throughout the house and I can hear the music as if I was blasting it in my house. There is no room that is not vibrating right now!

This is Jersey courtesy at its finest..NONE! I loathe these people! I am tired of talking to them about the same thing. Now it is time to go to the landlord! After that, the police will come into play if needed (oh, I forgot, they won't come). I cannot understand how such imbeciles can live in such a dense area!

To be honest, I would like to touch on other subjects but this stuff is going on so much that I cannot focus on anything but what is immediately before me. I would rather live in a tiny shack in the middle of Siberia freezing my cheeks off than be stressed day and night..anything to have a little peace!

How is it that we pay so much compared to the rest of the country to live in squalor? Why is it that New Jersians are so proud of their state (yes, I was born and raised here but I REFUSE to claim this place)? What is this dark cloud that is lingering above this stupid place and why?

You can't make this stuff up!

So here we are on a bright and sunny Saturday and Bob is at it early in the morning. He is doing his usual stuff and also using a blow torch again. My husband says that if you look at the light and your eyes are not protected, you can become bling permanently! He started at around 9 AM and annoyed me up until about 5 PM. that was actually pretty early for him to quit because usually it is around 9 pm. Just to feel like I had some control (which we all know that I have none against this state and the ignorant people in it), I called the police again several times. I even told them that there are two huge metal tanks with nozzles on them that he uses for his blow torch and that they can explode at any minute. Of course, no one came either time I called as usual. My husband left early to run some errands so I was home alone (usually I am during the week as well because he has to work).

My husband came back home and was thoroughly annoyed that he came back to the same noise that he left that morning. Before Bob stopped, We into the living room to get away from the noise. We started to watch a movie when we felt the annoying rumbles of my neighbors surround sound system. They like movies a lot. They actually have a wall that they built a cabinet into (it is huge) and they watch the loudest, most action-packed movies that they can find! At this point, my husband is extremely annoyed and wanted to confront them but I told him to let me do it because I did not want him to get upset and yell at them. He is very nice but everyone has a boiling point you know? I called their phone and no one answered (due to the deafening noise from the surround sound), so I had to go downstairs. When the wife opened the door, she already seemed pretty annoyed because she knew what I was there for. I politely explained to her that we can feel the bass from the surround sound through our couch (not the first time we have had to tell them this). She told me that the last tenants never complained. I asked her if it was because they were noisy as well. She admitted it and that the lady had four loud children. She said that they have surround sound. I told her that I knew but that we have it as well but we do not turn the woofer up because we do not want to disturb anyone.

Her husband, who has to be about seventy years of age, said that he does not even use all of the speakers (mind you, the surround sound system on their tv is one of four in their apartment, at least one of which has several speakers the size of DJ speakers..and equal in power). She also told me that the reason that we heard and felt it so much was because we did not have a lot of furniture (I am perplexed at how someone who is twice my age could be so dense). I made no mention of it, told her that I appreciated them turning it down in advance, and I went back upstairs.

About five minutes later, the bass was back up full blast. My husband was livid, I told him that I was just going to go lay down. I was at a loss at that point. After a few screams and tears, my husband reassured me that everything would be okay and I calmed down. I got back up out of bed and am okay now but this place will make you lose your effin mind! Oh, btw..my husband went back to our old apartment to do something and as usual, there was no parking as usual.

This is very common in New Jersey as many people have multiple cars per apartment and house. He parked next to a fire hydrant right in front of the house (the same one that people on that street park at overnight and never get tickets), went in for a few minutes and came out to find a $54.00 ticket! That is New Jersey for ya! Don't get me started on the fact that the sweeper sweeps our disgusting streets four times a week (only weekdays), so you cannot park on one side for two days between certain hours (usually a two-hour block). So you constantly have to move your car if you do not want a $42.00 ticket! Oh, I should mention that those stupid things only kick garbage around from one side to the next. We should have the cleanest streets in America but we have the dirtiest, most disgusting streets! My husband is from California and rarely saw a sweeper if at all and the streets stayed clean! It is just a scam to give people tax-free tickets! While the politicians line their pockets, the people suffer under their power and they wonder why crime is so bad here..go figure. I loathe this state and the inconsiderate people in it. I do not mean everyone..just most of them! Okay, I am done venting for now, but heed my warning..STAY AWAY!

Hey, guess what?

No Bob for the past few days..yay! Still had the other construction noise from a distance, which is extremely loud but I cant pinpoint it..ugh. Anyway, I managed to get some sleep yesterday. I could not today because I had to go to the front of the house to wait for a package. I payed on the couch but could not relax because the neighbor downstairs was watching movies all day! This came complete with furniture shaking bass. I just used it as an opportunity to play 'Call of Duty' with my bass up too (when in Rome..lol).

Not sure what to do about the noise or the weed smells which returned today so I have to call the Property Manager again. Being in NJ makes me miss all of the better places that I have been to and lived in. Sure, my apartment is awesome by urban NJ standards with all of the modern conveniences (dishwasher, laundry room, balcony, modernity, etc) but it it worth everything that comes with it? And where the heck is "Bob the Builder"? Maybe he cut some fingers off with one of his many saws or burned himself with his blow torch.lol. Ok that was mean, but so is waking me up at 8 AM! If you know anyone who is coming here or has been, please direct them to this blog. Til' next time!

Yep..a third day of mayhem!

Same stuff different day. I am considering calling the police on "Bob the Builder" even though I said I would not bother because they do not come. However, I finally got in touch with zoning enforcement and they said that it would be over a week until they could get someone out. I don't want to wait another week or go through more of this!

In addition to the noise, someone in my house is smoking marijuana and it is all through the apartment. We asked the neighbor downstairs and he said that they had the same thing has been happening downstairs even before we moved in. He said that he thought it was his sons (two older adult males) and he burst in their room to try to catch them but found nothing. Not sure if I believe that but whatever.

If it is not them, then it would have to be the ground floor apartment. However, we have not really spoken to them enough to establish a relationship where we feel comfortable enough to ask them if they are smoking weed. Plus, there are like three different families living in that tiny two bedroom (so common in this state). I just sent a text to our property manager because I need to know what to do about this.

I have a friend who lives in the next city in a "better" section of the city. She is having the same problem and now has to move because of this. That sucks because she just moved in a few months ago but her landlord can't do anything. We are both going through the same issues with noise and drug fumes. The only difference is that her neighbor threatened her because he thinks that she stomps above his head, when in fact it is the people next door to her.

This is classic New Jersey, you have adults living at home with mommy and daddy. They eat cereal, watch cartoons, and play 'Guitar Hero' in their boxers all day. The whole state is dirty, corrupt, overpriced, and overrated. My question is "Why are people foaming out of the mouth to get here?" I will make it my mission to expose what really goes on here..not just in the urban areas because, I assure you..the suburbs have their own dirty secrets too!

Yet another day in hell

Well, it is Monday and again I am awakened by the noisy neighbors downstairs. In addition to them, I am dealing with construction noise from somewhere. It is not "Bob the Builder"..at least not yet. This Boise is coming from somewhere in the vicinity. However I cannot see where it is coming from outside or from any of the upstairs windows. It it extremely loud. There is no way to ignore it. Even if I manage to doze off for a second I am awakened by a jarring noise. It sounds like they are using jackhammers and car crushers. I pulled out my sound machine hoping that I could drown out the noise. It did not work, even at the highest level. Next, we have "Bob the Builder", who is making yet another appearance.

Today we are working on some large metal object. We are banging on the metal very loudly and using a welder and sledge hammer. We have not yet broken out the other toys yet, but I am sure that we will. Hey, maybe at around 9 pm as usual Ey? I called several city offices today, including zoning. No one wants to pick up the phone. I got a hold of one person in a city office and was on hold waiting for her to give me the correct number for over ten minutes. I hung up and found it myself on the Internet. These people are still going at it with the noise but this lousy city makes it impossible to fight back.

No sense in calling the police (non emergency number of course) because they never came the other day despite three calls within a four hour time span. I will keep trying the other city numbers though. If needed, we will be going to court because there is no way that I can take this nonsense. Maybe the people around here are used to it. It seems that in urban areas, it is easy to become complacent. However, I have lived in much better areas and I will not settle for blatant mediocrity.

This city bites, this state bites! I do live in an inner-city but do we not pay taxes like everyone else? Okay, maybe not all of us, but there are a lot of hard working people here that don't deserve to live like this. I should not have to pay two million dollars to live in a peaceful area of New Jersey. Yes, those are the prices. You are lucky if you get a house in the ghetto for less than $600,000.00. If you do, it is probably ready to be demolished.

Where to begin..

I am writing this from my dining room table. I am extremely tired and annoyed because I did not get much sleep last night. My noisy neighbors downstairs decide (as they often do) to have one of their surround sound systems (they have four of them in the apartment) blasting. The bass traveled throughout the house and made it impossible to relax. In addition, we have a neighbor across the yard who has an illegal construction business of some sort. He decided (as usual) to construct something last night.

This morning, I was awakened by my neighbors downstairs slamming doors and yelling at eight AM. Being that it is Saturday, I had hoped that they would sleep a little longer just this one day..but no! I tried my best to go back to sleep but they continually made noise. Also, the neighbor across the yard started at about eight thirty this morning with his offensive noises. He broke out the power saw this morning and went at it! In fact, the bastard is STILL at it! I am at the front of my house and i can still hear his noise that is coming from the back.

I am in a newly constructed house (very expensive to rent in this state because they are new, in New Jersey..you pay through-the-nose for that). We wanted this because we were trying to escape some of the problems that come with living in an older house. However, we ended up in something that was not much better.

You can hear EVERYTHING in this house. We are at the top of a three family home. I can hear my neighbor's cats running on the hardwood floors in their apartment. In fact, last night..there was some type of commotion downstairs, which we heard of course..but we also heard the cat me-owing loudly. We had our TV on in the living room and were talking and still heard all of that. It was loud enough to sound like it was in our apartment!

The people downstairs are nice but they are very inconsiderate. We have asked them (and their two GROWN sons) to quiet down several times but to no avail. They may stop temporarily, then they are at it again. The front hallway smells like Black and Mild cigars because the husband and two sons smoke. We asked them to stop this several times and they think that the solution is to just go into the attached garage (rare in New Jersey) and smoke with the hallway door open..ugh!

Well..back to "Bob the Builder" (this is what I call the noisy neighbor in the back with the illegal business because he is ALWAYS building something). I called the police on him several times today. However, being that we are in the inner-city..unless someone has died, your chances of the police coming for something like this is almost non-existent. I will however be calling the zoning board on Monday. I will make sure that his operation is shut down as soon as possible. Other people around here may be okay with that deafening noise but my husband and I are not. We are here now and will see to it that he is put out of commission.

Well..that is enough for now, I will be updating frequently with some super crazy stuff! Also, is a youtube channel in the pipeline. I am just tweaking it to make sure that it does this site justice. Well..enough about my crazy morning, I would love to hear about what you go through here in New Jersey, or another state (so that we have a more well-rounded view of the state of things). What is on your mind?
